Komorebi 1st Valorant Tournament Report

After multiple weeks of intense planning we were all excited to finally start our tournament. No matter how much you plan something though, we all know that some things are just unpredictable. Sadly on the day of the tournament 3 different teams decided to cancel and not show up..."it happens" is all we say to that. We did nonetheless still manage to get enough teams together for the tournament. And so it began. After multiple intense - and some pretty one-sided matches - we had two finalists, RNG and Mys1s Gaming: It was time for the grand final to begin!

RNG An unlikely group of 5 guys trying to have fun in a tournament. All 5 members of the team joined the the event as solo queuers and were put together randomly in a team. In the days leading up to the tournament, they decided to get together and practice - and found they worked beautifully together. So they gave themselves a name and founded a team: Run N Gun!

Myst1s Gaming

A semi-profesisonal team from Finland. 5 well trained, experienced players. The favourites of our tournaments. These all describe the biggest name in our bracket. With excellent preformences in the earlier rounds of the tournament, they captured the hearts of spectators with they're planned, precise gameplay.

The Final:

One game. One Best of 3. It all came down to this match. Both teams were hyped and ready for the games. The first game was played on Ascent. After not losing a single round in the beginning of the game, Myst1s gave up their lead and ended the half with a 6-6 on attacker side. After switching sides, Myst1s once agin took the lead and went up 11-7. But RNG are a lot of things; but cowards isn't one of them. Not giving up, they managed to pull back enough rounds to force the game into overtime. The game had everything; clutches, aces, flaweless. Finally, RNG managed to snag the win from under MG's nose with a 15-13 win in overtime. After a short break, the teams joined the second map Haven. This time it was clear who was gonig to win the map. Myst1s wiped the floor taking 2nd map with a cool 13-4 win. And so we moved onto the third and final map, Icebox. Both teams were determined to win the honor of 1st place. It was a close and nerve racking game. One team would take the lead, but quickly the other would pull some rounds back. This back and forth continued all the way until, once again, the game went into overtime. Albeit this time around the overtime wasn't as one-sided. Myst1s gaming took the lead 13-12 and on match point, RNG Zen was left in a 3v1 clutch...which he almost pulled off. But in the end his solo efforts just weren't enough, and Myst1s Gaming were crowned winners of the 1st Komorebi Valorant Tournament!
